Presentation

The Croix de Parier, which overlooks Rupt-sur-Moselle, was erected in 1939 as a token of gratitude for the survivors of the First World War and as protection for the soldiers of the town.

It was blessed on October 1, 1939 by the Bishop of Saint-Dié at the end of a great religious parade that gathered more than 1000 people.

It is 10.10 meters high and 1.23 meters width.

Yet despit electrified since 1939, the Croix de Parier had no more been illuminated since 1952. Recently repainted, its lighting renovated and its surroundings cleared, its site offers hickers a wonderfull view of the Moselle Valley and the Ruppéan city from the top of the rock on which it is.

Walking access only, trails start from the church of Rupt.
