FOUGEROLLES CHERRY MUSEUM
Presentation
The Fougerolles cherry museum is a must-see when visiting the Southern Vosges.
There's plenty to discover for young and old alike! Culture, history, traditions - open this museum's doors to understand the past of Fougerolles and the surrounding area through the history of alcohol production and everyday life in the past.
In a former manor house dating from 1829, one of the first industrial distilleries in Fougerolles, discover the different rooms of the house. The furniture and the objects on display trace back almost 150 years of techniques and traditions.
The anecdotes told during the visit provide further information about the everyday life of the farmers. The visit continues through the distillery workshops, the admirably well-preserved stills and the mysterious attics. You can admire the beautiful wooden framework!
A visit that not only teaches you something, but also gives you something to see.
Outside, don't miss the chalot, the traditional granary. As well as our conservation orchard, which brings together around 40 local varieties, some of which are threatened with extinction, is just as worthwhile!
In spring, the cherry tree blossom is an event and a real source of enchantment due to the beauty of the flowers and their colours in the Fougerolles countryside.
