THÉÂTRE DU PEUPLE : " HAMLET - MACHINE"

This summer in Bussang, come and experience the epic Hamlet! This mythical figure will be presented for the first time on the stage of the Théâtre du Peuple. Three versions will be proposed to offer you a unique experience in France: Shakespeare's Hamlet, followed by his contemporary and insolent adaptation, Hamlet-machine by Heiner Müller. Finally, we will meet Hamlet's interpreter, alone, for an intimate face-to-face with the show (HAMLET, à part).

 
Based on a didascalia from Shakespeare's play, Loïc Corbery has imagined a one-man show in 2019 as if he were in his dressing room, in which he summons all the poets who have spoken about Hamlet, his solitude and his greatness.

Hamlet-machine is the revenge of women.

Ophelia takes back the power and frees herself from bourgeois norms. It is in this perspective that Simon Delétang has chosen to feminize all of the supporting roles in Hamlet in order to prepare this revolt.


Hamlet-machine is a work that is too rarely performed and that has never been presented in France as a continuation of Hamlet.
