Concert: Éclats de voix
Saturday 04 July 2026
from 20:30
Presentation
The Romarimont vocal ensemble Éclats de voix was founded in 2017 by Hélène Da Silva-Lejal. It comprises 20 singers who come together to perform varied and original programmes, ranging from classical and contemporary music to world music.
This season, following a colourful programme of song and dance centred on traditional and contemporary African music, Éclats de voix is delighted to present to its audience a Nordic choral comedy blending Scandinavian folklore with contemporary humour.
The theme of this provocatively humorous programme? ‘The Choir Director’s Funeral’!
Inspired by the sublime eponymous work by Marten Jansson, a Swedish composer born in 1965, this programme will explore, through a blend of folklore and modernity, the journey of an eccentric choir director whose whimsical fate will unfold through the works of Grieg, Frode Fjellheim, Runswick, Nystedt, Jansson of course, and even Gjelo, whilst also in store for the audience a few surprises and twists!
