CROSS CROIX DE COUARD
Presentation
The Cross of Couard was erected in 1947 to celebrate the return home of prisoners and deportees from the Second World War.
It is located on the Montagne de Couard (737 meters) which overlooks the village of Fresse-sur-Moselle and offers a beautiful view on its center.
The materials that have been used for it were at the time carried on men'back by the inhabitants of the village, including the children of the schools who carried the sand uphill on steep paths.
Accessible only on foot, you can reach it either from the center of the village or from the Etang du Frac by following the path marked with red ring.
