MUSEE DES MILLE ET UNE RACINES
Presentation
Young and old, come and discover magical works from our forests. You will admire characters, animals and other subjects shaped by time and a local and unique artist, Michel l'Enchanteur.
Fifty years of obstinacy, of research into nature. A magical world in a natural setting where more than 1000 pieces are exhibited on an area of 480 m². The exhibition is open most of the year (see opening hours on the site).
The museum does not only include roots, here this term includes both branches and trunks, burls, and curiosities caused by diseases or the work of insects. Forgotten objects, embedded in the wood. All themes are covered, the world of elves, tales, a cohort of animals worthy of appearing in a bestiary. The less worked pieces are nevertheless preferred by the public, shaped by time and simply bare, the detail revealing an eye that will highlight a character. The creations are in one piece, reviving a piece of dead wood.
On the ground floor, the museum is accessible to people with reduced mobility to whom it offers a reduced rate from 7 people. WIFI access. Closed on Saturdays during school holidays, closed on Tuesdays outside school holidays, open on public holidays except Christmas and New Year.
