Presentation

This performance traces the migration journeys of people from the Vosges and features three ‘suitcase’ scenes: a suitcase from Italy, a wartime suitcase (on French soil, but involving its fair share of displacement) and a suitcase from Algeria.

The ‘suitcase’ scenes were created based on life stories gathered from residents of care homes (or via their children or relatives), who shared their stories. They recount how they came to live in the Vosges, sometimes as a result of displacement caused by war.
